Before you submit an Application for Retirement (Step 2 of the 2-Step Retirement Process), we encourage you to schedule a retirement interview with an MPERS benefit counselor. Your spouse or friend may also attend this interview. All information shared with the benefits counselor during this interview is confidential and used only for preparing your personal retirement estimate.
During the interview, you will be asked to provide your:
§ Social Security Number
§ Date of Birth
§ Address
§ Phone Number
§ Spouse's Date of Birth (if married)
During this interview the benefits counselor will outline the alternatives available to you and provide you with an estimate of your retirement benefit. The counselor can also provide information about when you will receive your retirement benefit and answer any other questions you may have.
