MPERS has reached a significant milestone in its financial journey. As of June 30, 2025, the plan is 75.7% funded, the highest level in MPERS’ history.
This achievement reflects the impact of strong investment returns, disciplined funding policies, and years of strategic decisions by the Board. The investment portfolio finished the year strong and earned a 12.71% return in FY 2025, outperforming benchmarks and peer funds.
While this progress is encouraging, MPERS continues to monitor economic assumptions and funding strategies to ensure long-term sustainability of the System.
