Effective Date & Term Lengths
Active Employee Seats (MoDOT & MSHP)
Due to statutory changes in Section 104.160, RSMo., the active employee representatives elected in 2026 will serve an initial two-year term (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2028).
Beginning with the 2028 election, active seats return to regular four-year terms, and elections for active seats will occur every four years.
Retiree Seats (MoDOT & MSHP)
The two retiree representatives elected in 2026 will serve the traditional four-year term (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2030).
Why the Shorter Term for Active Members?
The purpose of this change is to maintain continuity on the Board by not replacing all elected trustees in the same year.
