We proudly serve the employees of the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), ensuring their financial well-being after years of public service.

Who We Are

Established in 1955 through Senate Bill 66, MPERS has grown from a modest operation into a robust retirement system that manages over 18,000 member accounts. From our first 109 retirees to today’s thousands of active and retired members, we’ve remained committed to delivering dependable, cost-effective retirement solutions.

What We Do

MPERS administers a defined benefit pension plan that guarantees lifetime income for eligible members. Our services include:

• Retirement planning and counseling
• Benefit calculations and disbursements
• Survivor and disability benefits
• Member education and outreach

We also manage pooled investments to maximize returns while keeping administrative costs among the lowest in the nation—just $196 per member annually.
